Food in Bandung - The Peak
The Peak ni kami singgah dlm perjalanan ke Kampung Daun dr Tangkuban Parahu. So, bila di sana kami hanya minum & makan ringan2 saja. Jadi x dptla nk review sgt food disitu. Tapi, pemandangan disana, sememangnye cantik.
I think they prepared the puff inside the bowl first, then only they put the soup in.. sedap.. Ade 2 lg dish yg kami pesan, tapi dh terlupa dah ape namanye.. dan gambarnya pun unavailable..
Air2 yg kami pesan mmpunyai stawberry dlm ramuannya, sbb disini strawberry byk ditanam.. Mmg sedap, if ur a strawberry lover.. Ape yg kami perasan di sini, harganya berpatutan. So, this is another must stop destinations if ur come to Bandung..

The name translates roughly to "upturning of a boat" or "upturned boat" in Sundanese, referring to the local legend of its creation. The story tells of "Dayang Sumbi", a beauty who lived in West Java. She cast away her son "Sangkuriang" for disobedience, and in her sadness was granted the power of eternal youth by the gods. After many years in exile, Sangkuriang decided to return to his home, long after the two had forgotten and failed to recognize each other. Sangkuriang fell in love with Dayang Sumbi and planned to marry her, only for Dayang Sumbi to recognize his birthmark just as he was about to go hunting. In order to prevent the marriage from taking place, Dayang Sumbi asked Sangkuriang to build a dam on the river Citarum and build a large boat to cross the river, both before the sunrise. Sangkuriang meditated and summoned mythical ogre-like creatures -buta hejo or green giant(s)- to do his bidding. Dayang Sumbi saw that the tasks were almost completed and called on her workers to spread red silk cloths east of the city, to give the impression of impending sunrise. Sangkuriang was fooled, and upon believing that he had failed, kicked the dam and the unfinished boat, resulting in severe flooding and the creation of Tangkuban perahu from the hull of the boat.
How to go.. Need to have GPS.. complicated route..

Food in Bandung, Indonesia - Rumah Mode
Rumah Mode sememangnye tempat membeli belah yg terkenal dikalangan pengunjung Bandung.
Terlalu byk pilihan menyebabkan kami buntu seketika..
Ia sebenarnya air buah oren segar (fresh orange), tp dibotolkan. Memang sedap terutama peminat air oren, like moi. Air itu dijual pd harga Rp17 000 (lbh kurang RM6).

Food in Bandung, Indonesia - Kampung Daun
As for this trip, obviously the main objective was "SHOP TIL YOU DROP".. haha... (poor my hubby).. but, i do love to eat and so does the rest of family, we did find some interesting places and dishes over there..
Apa yg menariknye kat sini, setiap tempat mkn ni ade kayu pengetuk digantung kat atas tu (kiri), so bila nk panggil waiter, ketuk jela. It was fun for the kids..
Jadi, mmg perlu ditambah susu itu. rasanya sedap, cuma pelik skit. air cola tu mmg disediakan begitu, jd x pasti rasa colanya tawar juga ke.. tapi for me, i like the cola better than the soda...
Lepas dh abis mkn tu, jenuh jugak la nk turun tangga yg banyak tu. Dlm tgh jln tu si kecil berhenti memerhati gula kapas yg sedang dipintal seorg pakcik...
**today is my bday... happy bday to me ...

Food in Brunei - Kuala Belait
The Chicken rice in a restaurant next to KFC in Kuala Belait town is a must try. We went there twice for lunch. The chicken rice is actually taste the same like the one in Malaysia, but the chili sauce that comes with it, is slightly different. They add very thinly slices of lime in the chili sauce. It kindda gives the sauce this nice sweet soury taste. I love to eat my chicken with lots of sauce on it, and they serve the chili sauce quite generously (every table has their own chili sauce, so you can take as much as you want). This is a very simple dish, but after you had it, it lingers in your heart for quite sometimes... hehe..
In this restaurant, they also has Cornbeef fried rice like in Bandar Seri Begawan. Again, my son couldn't resist having another round of his favourite brunei's special...
Where is it ? At the hearth of Kuala Belait on the road of Jalan Pretty.

My weekly Bread
I've been baking this bread since few months ago and it's becomes my weekly bread now... but, actually the bread normally lasts for 2 days top.. hehe... would like to share w anyone interested... (btw, thanks sis for the recipe..)
700g High Protein Flour
50g shortening
200g lukewarm water
200g evaporated milk
100g caster sugar
1 teaspoon salt
11g instant yeast
2 large eggs
- Sift flour into a mixing bowl. Add in yeast, sugar, salt and eggs. On the mixer.
- Pour in the milk and water a bit a time till just mixed ( i used fresh milk instead).
- Add in shortening and continue kneading till it become soft and smooth. Add more water if needed.
- Make into 1 big ball and leave to prove till double in size.
- Punch down the dough. Make into smaller balls and arrange in greased pan and leave to prove again.
- Bake in 180 for 20-30 min.
------> I use my breadmaker for kneading (just put everything and on the machine, add the shortening after the dough is just mixed) and bake in my small oven, less the mess... the bread in the pic was 1/2 the recipe, it's best eaten while hot/warm, so normally I bake 1/2 the recipe and store the other half in the freezer, for later...
