Home Made Burger

My niece Lydia & I tried out this home made burger recipe from Chef Bob of Hotel UiTM Shah Alam one evening. After we finished with the meat part, then only we realised that we didn't have any bun to go with it. So I looked in Alex Goh's book and tadaaa... Try it.. Very simple and easy to make.

Burger

Ingredients:
  • Minced Beef/Lamb/Chicken
  • Chopped Carrot
  • Chopped Onion (I used yellow onion)
  • Breadcrumbs
  • Salt & Pepper
  • Egg
*I added some garlic and chopped celery as well

Mix everything together, shape them as you like, and refrigerate. Take them out once you want to grill them.

Burger Bun (Alex Goh)

Ingredients:

(A)
  • 400g Bread flour
  • 20g sugar
  • 6g salt
  • 1T milk powder
  • 2t instant yeast
(B)
250ml water

(C)
30g shortening

Method
  1. Mix A till well blended. Add B & knead to form a dough.
  2. Add C & knead to form a smooth dough.
  3. Let it prove for about 45 min or double in size.
  4. Divide the dough into 80g portions, mold into balls and put into greased pan.
  5. Let them prove for 15 min, then flatten slightly and continue to let them prove for 30 min.
  6. Brush with water and sprinkle some sesame seeds on top.
  7. Bake at 190C for 12-15 min.
  8. Slice the bun horizontally, spread top and bottom with butter/margarine.
  • Place some lettuce on the bottom part of the bun, then top it with a grill burger. Arrange the cucumber, tomato, onion slices, cheddar cheese(optional) and spread some mayonnaise and chilli sauce/ketchup on top.

Food in Pahang : Fraser's Hill Pit Stop (Jalan Gap)

Need to remind those who never been to Fraser's Hill there's actually a timing when your can go up or down the hill. It is due to the road is quite small & ideally for one way only. Therefore a system was created long back to cater the traffic up & down the hills.

Odd hours/time is for going up the hill & vince versa. And it only last for 40minutes before the guard close the gate. Even though i know the times sometimes the traffic timing from Kuala Lumpur not right which resulting myself stuck at Jalan Gap.

But not to worry, if you unfortunately stuck at the GAP please relax at the small shop near the guardhouse. For muslims there's also a Surau nearby. Well, its enough to fill in empty stomach & also kill the time. Take the time to spend time with your love ones & also the kids. A burger with combination of hot teh tarik will do the trick since its already quite cold at the Jalan Gap. Excellent meal to kill the time.

Various Experience Having Food to Tell

This is what 1st Class MAS passenger eat. Honestly it was not so different enough from the normal class, just that the space is bigger. I'm one of the lucky ones being upgraded to 1st Class probably due to the seat for normal class was sold like hot cake.
A pleasant meal Lambchop at Residence Paka Terengganu. This is quite a memorable experience not due to the taste but because it is a farewell dinner for me.
Burger king China Brand. :). Well I've enjoyed this meal especially because there's nothing else i can eat. FYI, this is a fish burger & I'm having this in at Shanghai Airport. So disappointed when no chili available. Yup. They dint have chili. Only ketchup.

Very simple snack after my tiring day catching the crab in Langkawi. At that time i just catches the crab by 'pukat' & just boiled the crab as it is. Well, quite fresh, sweet taste with no artificial flavour. YOU SHOULD Try.
